The purpose of this website is to keep citizens informed and help them communicate with us during the construction of the Belleair Beach Causeway Bridge Replacement process.

We have established a 24-Hour Citizens Hotline for your convenience and use for the duration of this project. Please contact us at 727-453-3355.

The $72.2-million, 1.67 mile causeway will replace two existing bridges: one that spans the Intracoastal Waterway and a second smaller bridge that goes over a relief channel. This project is funded, in part, by the Penny for Pinellas.

The new Intracoastal bridge will be a 74 foot high-level fixed span bridge. It will be built on a north shifted alignment from the existing structure. This alignment will allow the existing bridge to remain open to traffic during construction.

Upon completion of this project the local community will enjoy a beautiful thoroughfare, improved boat ramp facilities and improved traffic flow.

Construction is slated to begin on March 29, 2007 with anticipated completion in the spring of 2010.

In preparation for construction the boat ramp will be closed to all vehicles, boats and pedestrians beginning February 19th 2007 and will remain closed for the duration of the project.
